Deputy Minister Ivanka Tasheva Meets with Moldova’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Emil Jacota
16 July 2026 NewsDeputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Bulgaria, Emil Jacota.
During the meeting, both sides underlined the importance of the active political dialogue between Bulgaria and Moldova for the further development of bilateral relations and the expansion of cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
In the course of the discussions, Deputy Minister Tasheva reaffirmed Bulgaria's consistent support for Moldova's European integration and congratulated the country on the launch of its EU accession negotiations on the opening of the negotiating chapters under Cluster 1 and Cluster 6.
Particular emphasis was placed on the Bulgarian national minority in Moldova as an important factor in bilateral relations. Deputy Minister Tasheva stressed that Bulgaria highly appreciates the conditions created by the Moldovan authorities for preserving the national, cultural and linguistic identity of the Bulgarian community.
Deputy Minister Tasheva and Ambassador Jacota reaffirmed their readiness to maintain active contacts and continue their constructive dialogue on issues on the bilateral agenda.
