EXHIBITION „BULGARIA“
How do artists from different parts of the world see Bulgaria? How can art reveal new perspectives on the country’s culture, nature, and identity?
In 2025, the International Triennial of Stage Poster – Sofia and the Ministry of Tourism organised an international tourism poster competition dedicated to Bulgaria as an attractive year-round destination. The initiative invited visual artists from around the world to interpret the country through original artistic images and ideas.
The competition resulted in more than 70 original posters. Of these, 30 works by artists of different generations and nationalities, including Bulgaria, Belarus, China, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic, were specially selected for the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Brought together in a travelling exhibition, they offer diverse visual interpretations of Bulgaria’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and national identity.
The exhibition comprises 30 panels, each measuring 100 × 70 cm, and is part of the “Mobile Exhibitions” programme of the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. It was developed within the framework of the “The Power of the Poster” project, included in the National Cultural Calendar with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture. The exhibition is available in a physical format at the State Institute for Culture to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The exhibition offers an encounter with Bulgaria through the eyes of the international artistic community, demonstrating how the language of poster art can build cultural bridges and present the country to audiences in Bulgaria and around the world.
